Capto™ Butyl-S hydrophobic interaction chromatography resin

Capto™ Butyl-S is the least hydrophobic resin in the Capto™ HIC resin range. It combines high capacity, high flow rate, and low back pressure.

Capto™ Butyl-S is a hydrophobic interaction chromatography resin designed for the capture and intermediate stages of protein purification. It is the least hydrophobic resin in the range of high-productivity Capto™ HIC resins.

  • High-productivity resin designed for the binding and elution of relatively strong hydrophobic molecules at comparatively low salt concentrations
  • Improved productivity and process economy in downstream operations compared with predecessor Butyl-S Sepharose™ resin
  • Excellent chemical stability
  • The least hydrophobic resin in the range of high-productivity Capto™ HIC resins
  • Low risk of denaturation of relatively strong hydrophobic solutes

Capto™ Butyl-S high-productivity HIC resin

Capto™ Butyl-S is a custom-designed resin developed for large-scale purification of mAbs, mAb variants, and other biomolecules. It is the least hydrophobic resin in the range of high-productivity Capto™ HIC resins.

This resin is designed for the binding and elution of relatively strong hydrophobic molecules at comparatively low salt concentrations. It is particularly useful during the initial stages of a separation process to remove the bulk of impurities without stringent requirements for conditioning of the sample (e.g., adjustment of pH, salt concentration, etc.).

It is a BioProcess™ resin that meets the demands of large-scale biopharmaceutical manufacturers for efficient and cost-effective protein purification. The resin includes validated manufacturing methods, secured supply, and Regulatory Support File (RSF) to assist process validation and submission to regulatory authorities.

Other Capto™ HIC resins

We offer other Capto™ resins for hydrophobic interaction chromatography with different hydrophobicities (Fig 1).
